My Story

It stared when I was 8 and I had to barter 100 dumplings to watch 1 hour of Dallas. My childhood weekends were spent helping my mom open up her food stand at a food court in San Francisco. Food has always been apart of my life. From Costco runs to rinsing bus tubs. Growing up I thought I wanted an office job, but after a short stint in tech and finance, I realized food was what made me find joy in my daily life. I wanted a change from sitting in a cubicle punching a keyboard. Born and raised in the bay area, I knew the only way out was a oneway ticket to NYC. It was there that my real journey began. I worked at Martha Stewart’s test kitchen, attended cooking school at night, and volunteered in a kitchen on the weekends. I wanted to know how do those pages in cookbooks and magazines look so delicious. That’s when I realized I need to have a career in Food Styling. Going against what my 15 year old self promised, I went back to food. I went out on my own and entered the freelance world collaborating on creating imagery as a Food Stylist. I’ve learned so much from chefs, photographers, prop stylists, art directors, and clients. I love food styling, recipe testing and developing, and of course eating. And here I am, back in California, back to my roots, back to food. I love it and never want to leave it again. Let’s make something look delicious, call me.
